5:30 PM - 7:00 PM    Mountain Bike Shred Ready - Group 2
This program will be designed to teach the fundamentals of mountain biking, develop the skills necessary to explore the trails safely, and hone the skills to ride aggressively. The curriculum will focus on skills such as body position, balance, brake control, gear management, climbing & descending and will cover entry level to intermediate maneuvers such as front & rear wheel lifts, track stands, wheelies and jumping basics. We will also cover basic bicycle maintenance and mechanics.  Will Tole grew up in Gorham, is a former PMBIA instructor and has been teaching mountain biking since 2001 when he accepted a job as MTB director at Camp Canadensis in PA. There he developed programs for campers from ages 8-15 with a focus on fun, safety and passion for the sport. Will was the lead coach at Sunday River Bike Park for 5 years and has also served multiple posts as a professional mechanic.  “If there is one thing I’ve learned over my years as an instructor and coach not only in mountain biking, it is that everyone learns differently and at a different pace. I believe my strength lies in being able to adapt to that, finding ways to break down subject matter is ways that make sense to the individual.”  The goal of this program is simply to foster a love and passion for the sport of mountain biking, to give the gift of freedom on two wheels and the confidence to follow that freedom wherever it takes you.  Rider requirements:  Rider must be comfortable riding a two wheeled bike (no training wheels or balance aids)  Bikes must have at least three gears and hand brakes (no single speeds, pedal brakes or balance bikes)  Riders must have a proper fitting helmet, and closed toed shoes (no crocs, sandals, flip flops etc…) Knee and elbow pads are encouraged but not required  Riders should also bring a bike mounted water bottle or hydration pack
