The GYBA is a non-profit organization that’s primary purpose is to provide 3rd through 8th grade youth residing in Gorham or enrolled in Gorham schools competitive travel basketball opportunities beyond those offered by the Gorham Recreation Department. The GYBA collaborates with Gorham Recreation to ensure that all Gorham youth have an opportunity to play basketball at an appropriate level.

Players must be registered to attend assessments.

GYBA cannot guarantee a travel team spot for all players.

GYBA players are not required to also play Rec basketball (optional if they would like to play Rec in addition to GYBA)

The GYBA is excited to open registration for the 2025-2026 travel basketball season for the following levels:

3rd Grade Boys & Girls
4th Grade Boys & Girls
5th Grade Boys & Girls
6th Grade Boys & Girls

The cost of the GYBA Travel basketball program is $175 for the season + uniform cost.
Assessments for the winter session will be as follows:

Girls Assessments: 9/4/25 & 9/5/25
Boys Assessments: 9/7/25 & 9/8/25
Makeup Assessment Date: 9/10/25

3/4th grade travel
3/4th grade travel: 3/4 grade teams will be balanced teams with 10+/- players on each roster. Evaluations will take place to help with team placement but no cuts will be made at this level. Playing time will be split evenly amongst all players. Teams are expected to have one practice during the week and games on the weekends. Players participating in the 3rd/4th grade travel basketball program have the option to also participate with Gorham Recreation but participation is optional.

Assessment dates:
3rd Grade Girls: 5:00-6:00pm on 9/4/2025
4th Grade Girls: 5:00-6:00pm on 9/5/2025
3rd Grade Boys: 5:00-6:00pm on 9/7/2025
4th Grade Boys: 5:00-6:00pm on 9/8/2025

5/6 grade travel
Rosters are expected to be made up of 10+/- players. If there are multiple 5th grade teams there will be balanced rosters. 6th grade teams will be split based on evaluations with the expectation being rosters will move away from balanced teams. At this level some players may be assessed and, based on their current skill level, recommended to play rec rather than travel basketball. Players participating in the 5/6th grade travel basketball program have the option to also participate with Gorham Recreation but participation is optional. Teams expect to have two practices during the week and games on the weekends. Playing time will be split relatively evenly amongst all players.

5th Grade Girls: 6:00-7:00pm on 9/4/2025 and 9/5/2025
6th Grade Girls: 7:00-8:00pm on 9/4/2025 and 9/5/2025
5th Grade Boys: 6:00-7:00pm on 9/7/2025 and 9/8/2025
6th Grade Boys: 7:00-8:00pm on 9/7/2025 and 9/8/2025

7/8 grade travel
Rosters are based on the middle school basketball rosters. There may be limited or no additional practices and all games will be on the weekends
