GYBA Travel Basketball
The GYBA is a non-profit organization that’s primary purpose is to provide 3rd through 8th grade youth residing in Gorham or enrolled in Gorham schools competitive travel basketball opportunities beyond those offered by the Gorham Recreation Department. The GYBA collaborates with Gorham Recreation to ensure that all Gorham youth have an opportunity to play basketball at an appropriate level.
Players must be registered to attend assessments.
GYBA cannot guarantee a travel team spot for all players.
GYBA players are not required to also play Rec basketball (optional if they would like to play Rec in addition to GYBA)
The GYBA is excited to open registration for the 2026-2027 travel basketball season for the following levels:
3rd Grade Boys & Girls
4th Grade Boys & Girls
5th Grade Boys & Girls
6th Grade Boys & Girls
7th Grade Boys & Girls
8th Grade Boys & Girls
The cost of the GYBA Travel basketball program is $250 for the season + uniform cost.
Assessments for the winter session will be as follows:

3rd Grade Travel
Players in this division can expect at least 1 Travel practice a week & 2 Travel games a week. The 3rd grade division plays in the Falmouth league & all games will be played on Sundays.
Assessment dates:
3rd Grade Girls: 5:00-6:00pm on 9/14/2026
3rd Grade Boys: 5:00-6:00pm on 9/10/2026
4th - 6th Grade Travel
Players in this division can expect 2 Travel practices a week & 1-2 Travel games on the weekend. The 4th – 6th grade divisions play in the Maine Basketball League (MBL) & games could be played on Saturdays or Sundays.
4th Grade Girls: 5:00-6:00pm on 9/15/2026
4th Grade Boys: 5:00-6:00pm on 9/11/2026
5th Grade Girls: 6:00-7:00pm on 9/14/2025 and 9/15/2026
5th Grade Boys: 6:00-7:00pm on 9/10/2026 and 9/11/2026
6th Grade Girls: 7:00-8:00pm on 9/14/2025 and 9/15/2026
6th Grade Boys: 7:00-8:00pm on 9/10/2026 and 9/11/2026
7th/8th Grade Travel
Beginning with the 2026–2027 season, 7th & 8th grade players will participate in a separate fall assessment for winter travel team placement. Players can expect 1 travel practice per week & 1-2 Travel games on the weekend. The 7th & 8th grade division also plays in the Maine Basketball League (MBL) and games could be played on Saturdays or Sundays.
