Come out and join Gorham Recreation for the upcoming basketball season!
These programs are run by volunteer coaches who work closely with the kids to help them improve their skills and build self esteem.
Emphasis is placed on teaching sportsmanship, FUNdamentals rules of the game with safety being our priority.
Without our volunteer coaches, these programs cannot be offered. Please consider volunteering to coach. We have numerous tools for you to access at the Rec department to make coaching easy and stress free….or almost! Go ahead and take on the clipboard, Coach! You’ll be glad you did.

Rec Divisions are broken down into the following:

5th/6th Grade Boys
5th/6th Grade Girls
7th/8th Grade Boys (for kids that DO NOT PLAY for GMS TEAMS)
7th/8th Grade Girls (for kids that DO NOT PLAY for GMS TEAMS)
9th-12th Grade Boys (for kids that DO NOT PLAY for GHS TEAMS)
Teams and practice days will be assigned when registration closes.
Rec Youth Basketball
Limitless Basketball: This program will provide an opportunity for individuals with intellectual and physical challenges to enjoy basketball participation in an environment adapted to their abilities. It will consist of 1 weekday practice - Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30pm at George E. Jack Elementary in Standish
Kindergarten: Practices and Games on Saturdays beginning 1/10/2026
1st/2nd Boys: 1 weekday practice and Games on Saturdays
Practices start week of 1/5/2026 with the first game being 1/10/2026
1st/2nd Girls: 1 weekday practice and Games on Saturdays
Practices start week of 1/5/2026 with the first game being 1/10/2026
3rd/4th Boys: 1 weekday practice, Games on Saturdays starting in January
Practice starts week of 12/1/2025. Skills and Drills Clinics on Saturdays in December starting 12/6/2025
(Practices the week of 12/15/2025 is up to the team/coach. No games or practices 12/22/2025 through 1/4/2026)
